Kerrville Market Days

                                                        Morning y’all!
Yesterday I spent time with two friends exploring and junking in Floresville, Texas then on to San Antonio for some fun at La Villita and Los Dia de Muertos, which I mentioned in yesterdays post here.
While we were exploring we stumbled upon this house located on D street. It was undergoing construction, and I was fascinated by it.

910 D Street, Floresville

The house itself is built in simple Victorian style with Italianate flourishes and was built in 1900, it is located in what is called the “Floresville Old Town subdivision” (or so Zillow says). One of several Floresville homes designed in this style it would seem.
The house has approximately 3,384 square feet of living space. I could not find out any information on it regarding number of bedrooms or who built it as it is the weekend and even searching public records didn’t yield me any answers. 🙁
So I am just sharing some of the photos I took.  This way y’all can daydream about what you would do with the home too. And also your imaginations can run wild, just as mine has; with what the inside must look like. 🙂

I wonder what happened to the original stairs leading up to the house cause y’all know these basic stairs are not the original.
I also feel that there is moldings missing from around the front of the doors and above the transom windows; which I am curious if are original too? As lots of times there are beautiful stained glass in the transom or even beveled glass’s; just not as plain.
Still I like the look of the plain glass as I am a big fan of lots of natural light in a home.
As you can see the porch railing and stairs are not on the house. Although the dental crown moldings and columns are still gorgeous.
I also have to wonder if the windows are original as well.  A lot of times folks tear out the old ones and replace them with more energy efficient ones but somehow that seems to diminish the authentic feel of the house. Large windows and encasements really make some of the older homes.

Who is in love with this giant tree? I’m betting that all three of us with our arms around the tree still couldn’t touch.
I don’t know about y’all but I have some serious column love going on here. And let’s not forget about the porch! Best part is there are TWO! Large and beautiful even in their current state we were oh so drooling.
It was a pity that the wood lap siding under the upper balcony had to be torn out. I am sure there was rot and it had to be re-stabilized. So I am clearly hoping that when it is redone it is with more of the wood lap siding as was originally designed.Loving this little side porch off of what we are assuming is the kitchen. How wonderful to have coffee or breakfast out on a nice fall morning.
I wish we had been brave enough to go up and peek in the doors. But this is Texas and you never know if “Smith and Wesson” is waiting on the other side of the door.

Rosie dressing up that porch!

Me-wanting to peek in the windows but respecting the owners privacy and sneaking a photo opt next to their porch.

So the most we did was approach the porch and strike a couple of poses.
Did I mention I had a bad case of porch and column envy here?
Thanks for stopping by y’all! Remember I’ll love you more if you like, share and comment!

Every year we put together a holiday playlist, I burn some cd's for the cars and add to my iTunes for back ground music when company comes over.   As always there are the favorites which are sure to be included.  Sometimes they are sung by the original artist and then sometimes I find a current artist whose rendition blows my hearing senses.
